It's the weekend, Saturday to be exact. Just posting a new entry because I notice I haven't post in a while. Plus, I'm waiting for this series to come on, so I'm writing this entry while the commercials are on. Lol.
Anywho, one and a half week to go before summer break begins. I cannot wait! What shall I do over the weekend? I actually have no clue, except for finding a new job. I have to earn some money because I'm planning to buy a new car. It will be my first own car because I been driving my dad's car since the day I first learn how to drive. What car am I planning to buy you ask? (Kaka, I should really stop popping up questions) I'm deciding between a Honda Civic or a Toyota Corolla. It's such a hard decision because I'm car illiterate. People say that Honda is better in speed and performance, but Toyota is more reliable. Oh well, I'll decide soon when I test drive them.
Wars of In-Laws II Review
I just finish watching Wars of In Laws today, so I'm going to give some review and comments on it. The series overall is pretty good. I thought it was more interesting than WOIL because of the fashion theme, and I'm a fan of fashion. The relationship between Myolie and Bosco's characters is so cute. It's so funny how Myolie tries so hard to be Bosco's girlfriend by doing what he wants in a girlfriend. Liza is hilarious as the mother in-law. Her performance is truly amazing, even better than in WOIL 1. The way she yells and criticizes her employees and Myolie is just cruel and amusing. The extra history behind Liza's life is interesting. It pulls the audience closer to Liza. The relationship of Liza and Benz is certainly entertaining. They first hate each other, but soon, Benz falls in love with Liza because of her personality. There was a part where Liza comes crying to Benz because everyone has left her, Benz encourages her and even eat Liza's Italian noodles with salted tofu (?). I thought it was so sweet of him because he doesn't hate Liza anymore. This show that love can replace all grudges and hateness inside a person. It sucks that everyone else didn't know the actual story about Liza's relationship with Bosco's dad. It wasn't her fault because Bosco's dad is the one who's two timing. But I guess that doesn't matter anymore because Benz loves Liza nevertheless.
One thing I'm confused with the series is near the ending. Joyce lied to Myolie that she got the permission of this fashion designer in Las Vegas to publish his works, so she can ruin Myolie's chance of publishing a good but last Elva magazine. Later, they found out that Joyce wasn't a traitor, and the truth was she is helping Liza. What I don't understand is why Elva magazine still got blame for publishing that fashion designer's works. I thought that Joyce pretended that she copies that fashion designer's works so she can treat Vivien into thinking that Joyce is betraying Myolie. If that is so then Joyce shound't really do it or else Elva will be in problem. Or because she has to do it in order for Liza to get the chance to buy Elva back.
Anyway, WOIL II is still a good series despite that confusing part. The chemistry between everyone is excellent and entertaining. Joyce and Derek's collaboration for the first time (for me) is funny and refreshing; their chemistry is excellent. No wonder they have rumors because of this series. Like any other series, WOIL II has morals in its story: one should value the people around him/her, treat people with respect, and be consistent with what you want to do. I actually cried several times watching the series, especially the sad scenes of Boscolie.
Fashion Looks in WOIL II
I just want to mention how pretty Myolie looks in the series. After she marries Bosco and starts working in Elva, her fashion style is very trendy and cute. I would love to those type of clothes if only I have the figure to do so. Here're some pictures of Myo wearing different outfits:
I especially love the way the make-up artist does her eyes...pretty huh?
I thought this necklace Liza wore looks really weird. I have never seen a type of necklace like this one before. In fact, I think it's cheap and ugly. I wonder how can you wear a necklace that is not flexible because from what I seen it looks stone straight.
I also hate Liza's hairstyle. What is up with the bang? Even if they want to give Liza a barbaric look, they shouldn't have chosen this hairstyle. Would a fashion magazine chief editor actually wears this type of hairstyle? Probably not. Luckily, I got used to it as I keep watching the series, but I still hate it.
Many of the girls in the series wore some really cute and stylish outfits. Like, Joyce, Nancy, and Vivien. I know WOIL II has a lot of sponsors for the wardrobe, but does everyone get to wear the sponsor clothes or they have to use their owns at some point? I guessing only the important roles get the sponsor clothes.
